Mr. Shotgun Fun Shoot - June 8, 2003

Great weather, little wind and no rain.  Something new this year and appreciated, was upon signing up each shooter received a "Rusty Duck" patch puller rodless bore cleaner kit.   The kit's were provided by Dante Inc. of Montreal, who also provided items for random draw at the end of the shoot.   Thanks Dante from all the shooters.

Six fields, 150 targets.  A combination of skeet, trap and 5-stand was shot, but the trap and skeet courses were not set to normal standards, as an example; Skeet doubles was shot on an International skeet field and the machine for a 16-yard trap event was set at International speed.   Many shooters were impressed with the 5-stand set up and it could be seen that much thought had gone into the target presentations.  Overall a nice day and a well run tournament.

Bob Howard took first place with a 137, Joe Trinci took second with a 136, and Andre Guenette was third with a 133.   Bob received four cases of Challenger shells as well as an art work by Yves Joseph Nalet, and second and third place finishers also were awarded shells.   Several cases of Challenger shells were given away by random draw at the end of the event.

Thanks to Bill Winchester who took us under his wing and at the end of the Mr. Shotgun shoot took us out for a round of Sporting Clays.   Bill had made a few changes to the course and wanted us to take a look.
